Hubs
From Common Energy
|
Common Energy, a society in the province of British Columbia, currently has organisational hubs at the University of Victoria and the University of British Columbia. These hubs coordinate activities and develop relationships on and around their respective campuses. In the self-organising network model of Common Energy, these hubs are the groups best able to make decisions and organise around climate change issues in their regions; authority is decentralized to where the best decisions can be made. |
[edit] UVic
There exists a Common Energy hub at UVic, where Common Energy was conceived. The hub is coordinated by four teams, and research and action are carried out by six working groups, each with a number of projects. Integrative projects tie the focus areas together, and provide on-the-ground action for the hub. Members at UVic collaborate with people and groups at UVic and in the capital region.
[edit] UBC
There is another Common Energy hub at UBC. Currently, Common Energy UBC is focusing its efforts on a public outreach campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to target the campus community’s behaviour, encouraging individuals to get more involved in climate change groups and actions, and to create a sustained evolution of pro-climate behavior at UBC.
[edit] Your Institution
Do you want to start a Common Energy hub at your University, College, or Technical Institution? We are always looking for people to find solutions in their regions and for groups with which we can form closer relationships. We would love to hear from you: email info@commonenergy.org.
